Indiana Disability Alliance
About Us
Our Mission
The Indiana Disability Alliance is a statewide coalition representing people with all disabilities, bringing together organizations to advance public policies that promote independence, community integration, and meaningful opportunity across Indiana. Through coordinated advocacy, the Alliance works to strengthen systems that support individuals in participating fully in community life, while preventing unnecessary institutionalization and supporting sustained community living.

A Unified Voice
Participating organizations share the following principles:
A central priority of the Alliance is to prevent unnecessary institutionalization and re-institutionalization of people with disabilities by advancing policies that promote self-determination, family stability, and meaningful access to community life.
People with disabilities should have the opportunity to live in the most integrated setting of their choice.
Public policy should promote independence, dignity, autonomy, and meaningful participation in community life.
Services and supports should be person-centered and responsive to individual needs and preferences.
People with disabilities, self-advocates, and families should have a voice in policies that affect their lives.
Public resources should be used responsibly and transparently to support effective services and long-term system sustainability.
Collaboration strengthens advocacy and improves outcomes for people with disabilities across Indiana.
